Yoga Class Schedule

Classes vary between hatha, vinyasa and kundalini. The goal of my classes is that each and every student gain their optimal health - mentally, physically and emotionally!
Hatha yoga: uses postures (asana) and conscious breathing (Pranayama) in combination with mental focus to develop awareness, strength and flexibility, and relaxation. Through proper alignment and mindful actions of the body, Hatha yoga instills balance, strength, and a sense of well-being. Hatha is a good way to become familiar with yoga postures.
Vinyasa yoga: this style is sometimes also called flow yoga, in reference to the continuous movement from one posture the the next. The breath becomes an important component because you move from one pose to the next on an inhale or an exhale. Vinyasa tends to be a more vigorous style.
Kundalini yoga: a proscribed sequence of poses and pranayama that focuses on a precise area of the body with the purpose of freeing energy in the lower body and allowing it to move upwards through the body awakening each of the seven chakras. Kundalini energy is often represented as a snake coiled at the bottom of the spine. The Kundalini sequences can be very physically intense. This type of yoga appeals to those who are up for both mental and physical challenges.

NEW! Restorative Yoga: props are used to support the body, releasing strain on joints and muscles. Poses are held for several minutes, allowing muscles to relax deeply. The props (such as bolsters, blankets and blocks) make it easier to hold the pose, since your muscles do not need to work. It is great for relieving stress, and helping to heal from injury. It also calms your mind and body and is the perfect compliment to your regular yoga practice or exercise program. Suitable for any experience level.

NEW! Pranayama and Meditation class: Pranayama is a breathing technique that calms your mind and body and prepares you for meditation. By learning to meditate, you learn to enhance focus, manage stress and overcome mental, physical and emotional obstacles. This class teaches breathing and meditation techniques as tools for gaining peacefulness and mindfulness in all aspects of your life.
