Kundalini Yoga

Kundalini yoga

Kundalini yoga is a form of yoga and spiritual practice that combines physical postures, breathing techniques, meditation, and the chanting of mantras to awaken the energy known as Kundalini.

The name is derived from the Sanskrit word kundal, meaning “coiled,” and refers to the dormant energy located at the base of the spine, often represented as a coiled snake.

Kundalini yoga is a prescribed sequence of poses and pranayama that focuses on precise areas of the body, with the purpose of freeing energy in the lower body.

One of the many benefits of Kundalini yoga is that it can help to improve physical and mental well-being.

The physical postures, or kriyas, in Kundalini yoga are designed to improve flexibility and balance, in addition to strengthening and toning the muscles.

Another benefit of Kundalini yoga is that it can help to reduce stress and improve mental clarity.

The more meditative nature of Kundalini yoga, combined with the practice of breath control and mantra chanting, can help to calm the mind and reduce feelings of anxiety and tension.

My personal favorite thing about Kundalini yoga is its ability to improve spiritual well-being. It connects the mind, body, and spirit and helps deepen spiritual understanding.

It is an excellent way to integrate wellness and healing into yoga, which is why I am so passionate about teaching these classes- not only is this form of yoga good for the body, it’s also perfect for the soul.

The way that I teach our Kundalini yoga class, I always like to progress from the more basic postures and breathing techniques, and gradually progress with each student, at their own pace, to more advanced practices.

In conclusion, Kundalini yoga is a spiritual practice

that combines physical postures, breathing techniques, meditation, and the chanting of mantras to awaken the energy known as Kundalini.

It can help to improve physical and mental well-being, reduce stress, improve mental clarity, and spiritual well-being. It’s a great way to achieve a balance of the body, mind, and spirit.

I’d love to hear from you!
